Borders Walking Festival 2026

Welcome to the heart of the Scottish Borders. From 4th to 12th September 2026 the historic town of Jedburgh proudly plays host to the region’s premier walking event. Nestled in the shadow of our magnificent 12th century abbey, Jedburgh offers a landscape like no other. Whether you are looking for a challenging trek across the Cheviot Hills, a gentle riverside stroll along the Jed Water, a family adventure with the Grizzly Forager or an art walk, there is a trail here for everyone.

This year’s festival is about so much more than the miles. It’s about community. Our central Festival Hub at the Thistle Pavilion (sponsored by Lyle & Scott) serves as your home base for registration, local advice and a hot cup of tea. From our opening ceilidh and the traditional Handing Over of the Ceremonial Walking Festival Crook, to our local history talks and evening entertainment we invite you to experience Jedburgh at its very best. Join us as we explore the paths less travelled. Discover our town’s hidden stories and celebrate the great outdoors in one of Scotland’s most beautiful settings.
